How to keep solid wood pieces looking their best for the next fifty years.
A hand-rubbed finish is alive — it interacts with humidity, sunlight, and use. The good news: keeping it beautiful takes almost nothing.
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and immediately dry. Avoid silicone-based sprays; they build up over time and dull the wood's natural luster.
Twice a year, apply a thin coat of the wax or oil we send home with every delivery. A quart will last you a decade.
Keep direct sunlight off any piece for the first six months — that's when most species develop their final color. After that, sunlight only adds character.
